Prosthetists and Orthotists we can’t wait to meet you – ISPO 2023 Congress in 2 weeks – Physiospot – Physiotherapy and Physical Therapy in the Spotlight

by admin

The Physiopedia team are busy getting ready to attend ISPO 19th World Congress on 24–27 April 2023 and we would love to see you there!

The International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics (ISPO) Congress is the global event for mobility products, assistive technology and rehabilitation services. With our Physiopedia vision of a world where every person has access to quality rehabilitation care we knew we needed to be there – and thanks to the support of USAID through ReLAB-HS, we are delighted to be heading to Mexico next week. We have two presentations during the congress and an exhibition stand – all details are below and if you’re in Mexico we’d love you to come and say Hi!

In light of the Rehabilitation 2030 call to action – which drew attention to the need to strengthen and integrate prosthetists/orthotists and other rehabilitation professionals into health systems – the Physiopedia team will be discussing the benefits and possibilities of interprofessional education and collaboration through 2 sessions:

  • Wednesday 26 April Symposium at 4.15 pm: “Interprofessional rehabilitation education: Developments, opportunities and benefits for the prosthetics and orthotics profession” in the main session room Guadalajara 3 on the ground floor of the Congress centre.
  • Thursday 27 April Free paper session 9.15 am: “Identifying interprofessional rehabilitation education opportunities: Comparative review of competencies and standards”.

The Physiopedia findings are being presented by our multidisciplinary team: Martina Lukin (Prosthetist and Orthotist), Larisa Hoffman (Physical Therapist), Angela Patterson (Occupational Therapist) and Shala Cunningham (Physical Therapist).

Please pop by the Physiopedia exhibition stand B02 (you can find us near to the ISPO booth by the entrance to the exhibition hall).

We will be there during exhibition hours (Monday 24 to Thursday 27 April between 9 am and 5 pm) and we would love to meet you.

We can’t wait to see you in Mexico!

ReLAB-HS is made possible by the generous support of the American people through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and
is implemented under cooperative agreement number 7200AA20CA00033. The consortium is managed by prime recipient, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
